Elizabeth Rhein-Narnia Stories-Student's Choosing

I really enjoyed listening to everyone’s Narnia stories this semester, especially when they were told around the campfire. I liked how everyone had really positive responses to everyone’s stories and how some were very philosophical. Some people pointed out interesting facts about the story that the writer never even considered. For example, the story about Reepicheep had a turtle which could have represented an religious Indian symbol. I also really enjoyed stories that led it up to the listener to decide what really happened. The same story with Reepicheep ended so that the listener could argue that he had died or was still alive. Another story like this was the one about the guardian who brought Shasta to the fisherman. It is not decided when or if the guardian dies. I also noticed that pretty much all of the stories led to their character meeting Aslan. I really liked this because their stories then led to a moral or lesson that the character learns. For example, the story where Mr. Tumnus found the Witch’s apple led to him coming to terms with what happened and when he talked to Aslan, it was learned that Aslan had forgiven him. I liked the stories because they helped you get to know specific characters better and made you feel like you understood what happened more. I also enjoyed writing the story because writing fictional stories are more fun to write than research papers. It was fun and something I would have gladly done again if I had the chance.
