Elizabeth Rhein-White Witch- Narnia

It was interesting how the White Witch made everything winter during her reign. It seems fitting that because she is cold-hearted and selfish that her control over the land would result in the spreading of her cruel feelings through out it. It seems appropriate that winter would go along with the White Witch because that is the time where everyone wants to stay inside away from it as well as nothing can grow at this time. Winter is actually the time of year where more people are depressed than the other seasons. Nothing can really flourish during winter. Many animals hibernate and so there is a lack of life in this season. I liked how the witch made it winter because if it had stayed any of the other seasons, more animals and creatures would be more likely to continue on with their lives without any trouble. The witch stopped such actions. As for her ability to turn them into stone, it was another fitting quality of the witch. I thought this ability resembled her heart. The witch was cold and ruthless, and because she could turn people into stone, it was like she was creating what fit her because her heart seemed to figuratively be stone. When she began losing her power, the ice melted and life began to grow and thrive in those areas, representing how she could no longer control those creatures’ happiness.
