I read the beginning of this book written by C. S. Lewis and in it he starts to discuss illusions and how people base an unknown experience on the failing of their senses. If people experience a miracle, they will probably never be really sure that it was one. This is because people like to know that something can be experienced and acknowledged by their senses rather than leave it up to the unexplainable. Because of this, they can just pass off a possible experience as an illusion. Since miracles are unexplainable by facts and history, it is only possible to have the mindset that miracles exist. I thought this was an interesting point that miracles can occur if the person allows them to. If that person does not believe in such, then they will never experience one.
